What mineral blocks are you deer guys using? Are you just putting them on the ground or suspending them?

If you put it on the ground, some of the mineral will actually leach into the ground so that even when the block is gone the deer will keep coming back to paw at and lick the ground. What you can do to keep the hogs from pushing all over the place is drill a hole thru the middle of the block and drive a piece of rebar thru it into the ground so that it stays in one place.

Do not put out if you have Aoudad. Unless your goal is to concentrate aoudad.

I use the Trace mineral salt blocks for Aoudad and they hit them hard and frequently.

We have always used regular mineral blocks and salt blocks that they have at the feed store and toss them in the feed pen. We don't buy the "special" (more expensive) ones for deer. The porcupines seem to like them too.
