I just found out I won one of these in a raffle. I read a couple of online reviews. Any TexAgs OB posters have any reviews?

Also it doesn't come with a scope, so recommendations are welcome

I have the RA in .243. Accurate and functional. While it won't win any beauty contests, it's lots of gun for $350.

I know a lot about a little, and a little about a lot.

I have a Ruger American Predator in 6.5 and it's a great shooting gun. They definitely put a good product out on the American rifles. For Optics I am a fan of the Vortex Crossfire II that came on it. Not an expensive scope but works great for me.

If it is wood stock and you don't want it, I will buy it from you for a reasonable price.

Personally I prefer wood stocks. This one comes with synthetic camo. Thanks for offering.

Good gun for the money. As to optics, budget and use?

Especially since the ticket was $60 (Calendar raffle through RMEF)

I don't anticipate using this for much other than whitetail hunting with a range of 250 yards max.

Been very happy with the new Leupold VX-Freedom line... have one of those on my ridiculous 10/22 I built... Just don't get the rimfire version like I have, haha! If cool with going with a non-big name, Rudolph has some great hunting scopes.

I have two: .300blk & 6.5 CM. Go ahead and order the replacement bolt shrould and take down tool from Anarchy Outdoors (check eBay). Also order a beefier bolt handle from Glades Armory. The new Magpul American Ranch stock is due to ship soon (hopefully). Just the bolt shroud and bolt are nice upgrades. Not sure if Magpul is doing a long-action stock just yet. If they do, replacing the elcheapo stock will make these rifles outstanding shooters

FYI. Out of the box, I'm getting .75" groups @ 100yd with factory 125r .300BLk. It's got a decent Nikon p300 scope made specifically for the .300blk. This is my son's rifle and he usually is shooting 75yd or less suppressed.
