A junior at the high school I work at had one bite him on the pecker two years ago. Needless to say, he missed a lot of school.

Just thinking about that makes me nervous to go to bed at night

Does it really matter? When the house burns down around it the problem is solved. One way or the other.

It did not. I was definitely too close to it if it is a brown recluse though. I was about to pick it up with tweezers to look closer, but thought better of it.

And I did not kill it with fire. I beat it to death and then washed it down the drain.

I suspect it was coming to play with "friends". If y'all thought I should burn the house down for that one, y'all really aren't going to like this.

I think huntsman spiders are wider and much larger. I wanted to get one. Plus we don't have them in the wild here huh?

Edit: i think it's a hobo spider. I'm wrong on huntsman. Don't care to google more pics yikes. Hobos have the big fangs that look like another pair of legs

Pedipalps too large. Definitely not a recluse. not sure it is a hobo either. Maybe a species of house spider and likely male.

Ok so a recluse won't have big pedipalps then? Good to know. I don't like killing spiders. The ends of them looked like a bulb.

Recluses have pedipalps as well and they aren't tiny, but they aren't huge either or bulbous like that spider. Pedipalps are larger in male than female spiders most of the time and the females of most species are significantly larger than males in overall body mass.

While at TAMU i worked for a local equip rental store. U rent m

Really good people owned about six locations

Anyway they had a port a can division.

I can't make this up.
Had two lawsuits from guys sitting on the can getting bit by spiders on the dong.

Insurance settled the first pretty cheap. Not a big deal.
Second case was harder.
Wife of guy bit claimed the spider caused damage. The "infected" area grew in size after the bite.

Then shrunk later. Caused their sex life "ireperable" damage. No lie. I don't know how it ended but the store paid something.

Those spiders will bite anything.
