Anyone have this particular model or another ATI hybrid rifle in a different caliber? Price seems too good to be true.

They're not that great in my opinion. You can get a better rifle out of Palmetto State right now.

My bad. Just realized you're looking for .300

Yeah, the .300 round is more to my liking. I already have a Mini-14, so my .223 fix is taken care of. This is for my son, he shot a .300 blackout this weekend and fell in love with it.

I can't find a Palmetto State .300 Blackout, otherwise I would go that route. Do you have experience with an ATI?

I've sold numerous ATI's because they're stupid cheap but they feel very flimsy and cheap. If it's just a weekend rifle that he won't shoot much then go for it. If he wants something that he'll use and abuse then I would spend $100 more and get an aluminum lower at least.

PSA has rifle kits in 300 blkout for ~$380. Just need a stripped lower ~$40.

PSA 300BO rifle kit
$380
PSA Liberty Stripped Lower
$70

$450 Total before transfer and S&H

I thought that Sponsor EyeGuy had some AR15's starting around this range also. He can fill in.

Not in 300BLK, barrels on those are more than I've been paying for 556. I can get one done for about $525 though.

I figured you were in the ballpark at least.

Save $30 and get an Anderson lower from Primary Arms.

edit: Or for about the same price as PSA Kelso has some better lowers that are a whole hell of a lot easier to assemble. They have a screw for the rear take down spring, a threaded pin for the mag catch and an adjustment screws in the rear of the receiver to take out any slack with the upper.

So you're saying the PSA Liberty Stripped Lower is hard to assemble?

No the others are just easier and I like being able to pull off the stock without worrying about the take down spring. I was more saying at the same price (It was a little cheaper black Friday) I would take the one with the added features. I also like not having to tape up the receiver to install the take down latch pin.

All lowers are very easy. Any one you get should take less than an hour the first time you put one together.

I have no complaints on PSA products.

Thanks. I'm going to take y'all's advice and go with the PSA kit and stripped lower. Will be my first build. I've taken multiple guns apart/put back together before, but for whatever reason this seems so intimidating!

Guess that's what YouTube is for :-)

It's intimidating the first time only at the start, but when you finish you are think wow that really was not that hard.
Tips from a Newby
1) Pick a good clear place (small room) with no carpet. Lighter colored surroundings may help find the mostly black parts.
2) Springs and dentents flying are the biggest issue I had. (Not a harm issue just a searching for parts issue) (Goggles)
3) I had an "oops kit" of extra springs and detents and sadly I had to use some the first time.
4) Also make sure you use the right detents for the right hole/spring. I was not able to turn the safety until fixed. Easy redo step.
5) And a taped over razor blade is an amazing tool, could possible use a old credit card, but razor worked for me.
6) There are some basic tools that can make it easier. Borrow if this will be your only AR. (snicker) Maybe you just want to buy the kit then you can loan to friends after you see how easy it is.
7) The lower is very open and easy to see what is going on, and things make more sense as you go.
8) You can build it with your son. Enjoy it.

Did you ever say where you were located? I have all the tool sitting on my work bench from the one I built yesterday. I don't mind lending. In B/CS but you will not need much.

I also use a box when putting in small parts to catch them if they fall. It is much better than looking all over the room.
