The Fiancee is getting her bridesmaids little bracelets with a letter asking them. I was wondering how y'all asked your groomsmen. Like did you give them a little bottle of whiskey, something outdoorsy, or just texted them. Thanks!

Outdoors related because it'll be an outdoor wedding.

The last wedding I was in I got asked in the waffle house parking lot after breakfast. "Hey bud, will you be in my wedding?". "Of course man, looking forward to the bachelor party".

Asked them when I saw them for most, texted the rest.

My buddy just proposed and gave me a pencil box that he stained and made it to where it looked fancy. Had a cigar in it and the small sample bottle size whiskey stuck on it with "groomsmen" on the box.

If you want to spend some money on them, I wouldn't waste money on how you ask, but rather save it for something for being in the wedding.

Bought them a bottle of Blantons and a wind proof lighter. Can't tell you no with some good whiskey.

All of mine were in my saber arch, once it was done and we were taking pictures I just called them out and asked so we could get a picture together

half of mine were from out of town about 4 states east. Just called them and then paid for their suits for the wedding. Asked the others in person.

Baby bottles of booze and a cigar was how I asked as well. Easy peasy

ETA: y'all old timers are salty as hell

Didn't ask em I told em they're going to be the groomsmen or they were going to get shived.

Completely agree that texting is too informal. Call them or, if possible, get them together for a dinner or a beer and ask them. I did get them a gift for being a groomsman, but not as a way of asking them.

Groomsmen reveal party, duh

You invite 20 guys over and tell them to bring their 12 gauges

You load up on shell with color powder inside for best man

x shells with a different color for the groomsmen

the rest get blanks

Buddy turned to me one night at dinner and said "oh by the way you are the best man"

Worked out well as I had already hooked up once with the MOH (brides sister)

Lol thanks guys! Yeah probably just call them up. I've been reading way too much stuff on everything so I didn't know if the whole "groomsmen ask" was a big deal or not. Definitely plan on getting good gifts for showing up to the wedding though. Gig 'Em!

Just go pick up your buddies favorite beer, drive over to his house, crack open a cold one on the back porch and ask. If he says no, take the beer and go

Planning asking 4 of my groomsmen at a get together next weekend. I was on the fence between asking over a phone call or the dinner and beer idea, for the one living relatively close. Since I proposed to my fianc, I've consistently received one piece of advice.... "Agree with her on everything related to the wedding planning so you don't have a bridzilla on your hands before and on the day of the wedding"


Long story short is I'm now giving them a box with two mini bottles of whiskey, a flask that has their names on it and a card asking if they will be a groomsmen....

Gotdang I just texted everyone in a group msg "you're in the wedding mofos"

Except for philip. I had to call him during the rehearsal.

I hate to break it to you, but you have absolutely no control when it comes to her being a bridezilla or not.
