I am thinking about getting a RTT. I have an '09 F-150 and would like to mount the tent over the bed.

Does anyone have experience with doing this? What kind of rack is best? I've seen Thule but think they may be rated to 500lbs.

Yakima, Thule Cross bars should suffice. I was going to suggest bed bars, but it seems that they're made for Toyota unless you had some custom ones made.

Where are you?

Bed bars (bent and welded tube) can be easily fabricated to fit your bed. I know of a handful that usually work on Tacoma stuff, but meh.

As for the tents, they're incredibly popular right now. Chinese brands are popping up like mosquitos, but there are a bunch of quality options, too. You're only limited by your budget.

Houston

Have my eyes set on Tepui. Not really something I want to cut cost on.

They make great stuff. Only issue I've heard of is a from a buddy messing up his ladder, but that was entirely on him.

I think Shrockworks and NFab are out that way.

Typically the boat follows the RV

What kind of boat is it?

That isn't a pop up camper!

Looking at either a Mastercraft 209 or X9.
