I'm looking for a 3x5 flag to mount on the side of my house. Willing to spend ~$75, though most of the ones I've seen are cheaper. I have no problem paying for quality. I would prefer it to have a built in solar light, but I can always add that myself. Also, I prefer a bronze finish on the pole, but that's not terribly important.

I've done a bit of researching, but of course no one says, "our product is crap," so I'd like to hear personal experiences. So, any suggestions? Makers to stay away from? Fire away.

I bought a flag online from the MSC bookstore and a pole from Walmart about two weeks ago. The flag seems to be good quality. The metal pole does its job well enough for the $5 it costs. This setup will fall in line with your budget.

Where are you located? I've picked up two "spinner" flagpoles and 3 x 5 USA and Texas flag from Gardner and Martin on the east side of Houston (off BWY 8 and Spencer Hwy).

I have two of the spinner poles to mount on the front of my house and hang the USA and Texas flag from. Picked up the polyester double stitched flags - they were $40 each last time I bought them. They fly pretty much every day of the year - replace them every 12 months. Spinner poles have held up well over 4 + years.

Have not been by here, but Kronbergs advertise quite a bit in the Houston area

I got some wooden one from home depot last year, couldn't have been expensive and it's holding up well - and I live on clear lake, so it gets pretty heavy wind, salt, and lots of sun.

Get a heavy brass bracket like this one: http://www.truevalue.com/product/Flag-Pole-Bracket-Brass-1-In-/64207.uts?keyword=flag

I bought one after having 2 crappier ones break. This one has been on 3 houses in the last 8 years and we only bring the A&M flag in during bad wind.

Thanks for all off the suggestions! I wound up going with a Valley Forge flag and pole with an Evergreen bracket. Almost exactly what Dragons06 recommended, just a different finish on the pole. I also found a solar light that clamps onto the pole. Not sure how high of quality the light is, but it was the only one like it that I saw. Anyway, thanks again!
