Anybody have a whole house surge suppressor? We lost both the washing machine and dishwasher last night during some bad weather.

Fortunately, my wife hated the existing washing machine and we were looking to replace later this year, so it's not worth fooling with the repair. However, I just purchased the nicest washing machine I've ever owned, and I'd hate to be back in the same boat.

I know my uncle lost some stuff to a storm and got something like this installed by his electrician. Of course he has not had another strike since then, so can't attest to it personally but the reviews look decent at least. This what you had in mind?
