Wondering if any of you have been fishing down here. Down for a family (in law) quick vacation - wanting to do a little saltwater fishing (pier or bank fishing) - anyone know any good areas?

Fished the flats down there, but my buddy had a boat, so I'm not much help. Reds Ice House is where you wanna be in the evening

There is an IOP in Texas?

I can't help you much work fishing, but I can help with restaurant suggestions (assuming we are talking about South Carolina). Best food on IOP in my opinion is Acme Oyster House. Make a reservation, if fills up quickly during the summer season.

I live here but dunno much about the fishing. IMO the Avondale area is better than what you'll find in Mt Pleasant. Red's is about the only good thing over there. Rutledge Cab on the peninsula is good - if you stay north of Crosstown you'll avoid basically all of your tourist destinations.

I'm just trying to find a pier I can fish from or a location relatively close to here where I can fish from the shore where I will actually catch something. All of the charters were booked when I could go, so a no go on those.
