I am a Springfield fan, the first handgun I bought was an XD and I have shot that gun a lot. I am still more accurate with that gun than any I own. My suggestion, if you decide to buy a Springfield, is make sure you get one while they have a promotion running. Right now you can get 4 extra mags, a mag clip and holster for free. The holster isn't good for much except for maybe mounting in your vehicle. They seem to run one of these at least once a year.

I don't have any experience with one of these but I have been looking at the Springfield loaded model mainly for the ambi safety (lefty shooter) but it has a few other extras as well. I have seen this gun for around $800 but they are hard to find in stock. This is the gun I have been looking for:
Springfield 1911 LoadedMy question for folks here with more experience is, how does this gun compare with the Range Officer? I keep hearing the Range Officer is a better shooter, should I just get a Range Officer and have an ambi safety installed instead?
Any suggestions would be appreciated, thanks.
