I just read about it on our NextDoor group.

We have had a rash of stolen packages in our subdivision and the surrounding subdivisions. Yesterday a guy 2 streets from my house came home for lunch. He saw 5 shady looking guys pile out of an SUV and split up; 4 on foot one on a hover board. He walked by the SUV and saw that it had a broken steering column. He told a neighbor to call 911 while he kept some of them in sight. Cops showed up pretty quickly and caught them. When the cops searched the SUV they found several Amazon boxes and other packages. All 5 got free nickel plated bracelets and a free ride in the back of a police car.

Wonder how they were able to catch the guy on the hover board.

I haven't actually seen them, but I've heard that our PD has tazer drones for this type of situation.

Police said Chivu did have a "no soliciting" sign posted outside his home.

I've got one too, it definitely doesn't stop anyone.

Plus most of the people going door to door couldn't spell "soliciting" much less comprehend its meaning.

Made me think of this video. Package thieves and shotgun shells are definitely outdoors.

That's pretty much the reason I never bothered to put one up. Hate dtd solicitors but figured it wouldn't do a damn bit of good. Fortunately, the soliciting has really dropped off significantly over the last year or so. Hope it stays that way.

We were getting doorbell rings almost every day. Haven't had a single peep since we installed this a few months ago along with the Ring.

Now THIS is a good idea.

Our town home community has had a few packages stolen recently including one belonging to my wife and I. We're almost positive the Amazon delivery guy swiped ours.

I've seen a video where a guy rigged a package full of dog crap to explode 45 seconds after it was moved. Blasted off inside a guys car after he stole the package.

I've got a sign near my door to leave the packages to the side which is behind a short brick wall. The idiot delivery guys still leave them in front of the door in plain sight. Not saying behind the wall makes them secure, but come on. How hard is it to leave something a few feet away and not glow as an attraction?

These delivery guys sure aren't helping things.
