I'm moving to a house with some acreage and the previous owner left an approx. 6 cubic yard pile of hardened asphalt; I think it's leftover from a neighbor's driveway. I'm sure there were good intentions for it but it never got used. What do I do with it? It's nearly as hard as a rock. I'd like to remove it but am not sure how. Any ideas?

rent a bobcat and make you a nice lay down yard (although it would be rather small with only 6 yards - 18'x18'x6" or 20'x24.5'x4").

Dig your own fishing pond and use it for structure.

On my place I make water diversion bumps with materials like that. Shape a mound similar to a speed bump over your pasture road to keep the water from running down the tire track and eroding it more.

Where? Grind it up and it makes great road base

I'm in NE San Antonio. I can rent a bobcat, however my concern is the whole pile is hardened and it would break up in big chunks. Should I put some diesel on it and burn it for a while to warm it up? I like the idea of a lay down yard.

Just spread it out and run over it to crush it up. Dont burn it.

maybe wait until summer on a warm (rather hot day) and maybe it will work for you??? The cold weather lately may have it a little tough

If you use it for road base, make sure you roll it very, very well. Old asphalt like this is one of the worst materials to washboard.

Is it somewhere where I could stea... I mean access it easily with a tractor & front end loader?
