*cross posted to panhandle board*

I'm hauling a flatbed load of square bales and bottled water up north tomorrow if anybody knows anyone in particular in need. I'll head to the Canadian/Pampa area or elsewhere if needed. Just reply here or shoot me a PM.

Here's the gofundme link: https://www.gofundme.com/texas-panhandle-fire-relief

And prayers always help. Can't imagine what these folks are going through.

What they are calling the Lefors East fire hasn't gotten as much publicity as the one they called the Perryton fire. Both fires burned up a whole bunch of country. I'm not sure how much hay they have there at Wheeler and I know at Canadian there's a lot of hay already. Call the good Ags at Wheeler County Vet Clinic. They could tell you where to take it to folks who need it most. 806 826 5821

Thanks from everyone up here for the hay and the prayers.

I'd be willing to hang around a couple days too if anyone needs a hand.

Heard on the radio today that a lot of the Texas collection points were full, they were sending trucks on to Kansas and Oklahoma fires, if the drivers were willing.

We have actually have some good news regarding the horrible wildfires that began raging a week ago. Texas A&M AgriLife reports that the generous outpouring of donations has resulted in about a two to three week supply of hay to help ranchers who lost grazing land to the fires. However, fencing materials and monetary donations are still needed. If you would like to help, or perhaps need assistance, here is some contact information.

County Extension Agents overseeing the AgriLife supply points:
  • J.R. Sprague in Lipscomb County at (806) 862-4601 (office) or (806) 202-5288 (cell)
  • Mike Jeffcoat in Gray County at (806) 669-8033 (office) or (580) 467-0753 (cell)
  • Andy Holloway in Hemphill County at (806) 323-9114 (office) or (325) 668-0466 (cell)
Donations can also be made through the Texas Department of Agriculture STAR Fund:

The Texas and Southwestern Cattle Raisers Association is also helping assess fire damage. For more details about that effort and a way for producers to submit information to TSCRA, go here:

LUBBOCK, Texas -

The kind hearts of the Lubbock community are raising funds to help those who were devastated by the panhandle fires. BG Custom boots, Flint Boots and Hat Shop and The Rusty Rose in Plainview are sponsoring a benefit drawing for a handmade saddle, handmade boots, and a handmade pure beaver hat.

"It's a devastating tragedy as far as getting wiped out, some people just lost everything they had; some people lost their lives. It's just a great way to take what we do and put out there for in support to someone who needs it,"said Dustin Glenn owner of Flint Boot and Hat shop here in Lubbock.

All proceeds raised will be donated to the Working Ranch Cowboy Association Foundation Wildfire Relief Fund. Tickets can be purchased at BG Gustom Boots and Flint Boot and Hat Shop in Lubbock. The Rusty Rose in Plainview or contact Dustin Glenn at (806) 672-0094 or Brad Glenn (806) 939-5081.

My high school buddy randy acosta is part owner at canadian ah&n (animal health & nutrition). As far as I know, they've been the main hay drop off location for Hemphill.

County agent on the radio this morning. Local hay needs are met, even the storage areas are full.

They strongly suggest calling Agri-life before you donate.
