I recently pulled the trigger on the above mentioned bolt action .22 for shooting suppressed. I am wanting to get a scope for it. I am not looking for the best of the best glass, but would like to be able to, for example, hit a rabbit in the head from 50 yds or so without an issue. Does anyone have any decent recommendations? Let's say my budget is around $300 or so. Thanks.

I put a Nikon BDC .22 scope on it and have been very impressed with mine. You can probably find it for around $150. Then spend the rest of your budget on ammo and beer.

I have the same rifle. It is a rabbit slayer. I have an aimpoint mounted low in 30mm rings. The dot is nice for hunting at night and it's quick enough for popping them on the run. I have a Boyd's laminate stock and a silencerco sparrow ss on mine.

I put this on my 10/22

I've been happy with it.

Thanks guys. Looks like I may be able to get something reasonable for way below what I was thinking which is always a good thing. Keep the ideas coming.

I have one of these on another rifle. I think they are a good scope for the price, for sure. Not sure I would recommend one for rabbit hunting due to the bulk and the AO. Also, the reticle a bit thick for target shooting.

Sweet shooting scopes for .22, has multiple turrets that match the grain you shoot. Once you dial it in, you can move the turrets to exact yardage and its spot on. Have one on mine, highly recommend it.

I put this on with a raised set of rings so I could still use the built in sights if I wanted or if a target was super close.

Got the scope for $41 from Jet.com this past year and added the $20 rings for a nice set up for under $65.

valid points but I havent found the reticle to be to thick for target shooting. The other one I was looking at was the primary arms 6x with the acss reticle.

Definitely get the Boyd's stock. I think mine was the "tacticool" version, but it's almost a must. The cheapo plastic stock on there isn't weighted properly for the bull barrel. Once you get a little more meat on the butt end of it, it balances incredibly well. It's a bit heavier overall, but really well balanced. Should run an additional $130 depending on where you get it from.

If you do go that route and upgrade the stock, check the barrel seating in the channel by running a dollar bill between the barrel and stock. I had to sand out some of the stock because it was rubbing and wasn't giving me a free float.

I love mine, but sadly don't shoot it enough. It'll be the gun I teach my son on here soon.

The Mueller APV optic has a significant following over at rimfirecentral.com as one of those "best scope for the money" buys. I only have one Mueller on .22's we have and it's on a stock Ruger 10/22. It can make the proposed shot.

For its price point and quality/warranty it rates consideration. I actually think it will be a great pairing with the proposed gun. Hitting a rabbit in the head with that gun and that scope? With quality ammo I'd expect more distance from that combination if the shooter does their part.

The shooter doing his part is easy. Getting the rabbit to do his part is the challenge.

You might look at the Weaver Kaspa Tactical (there's that word again) 3-12x44 w/side-focus and illuminated TBX reticle. It has a very good view for it's price (often under $200), and you can adjust parallax to about 10 yards via the side-focus. The reticle has multiple aim points in case you want to sight in for more than one particular distance.

I'm big into rimfire rifles and hunting and shooting with them. I think adjustable objectives are great for rimfire rifles in general because most center fire scopes have the parallax set out too far. But I've come to appreciate fixed parallax scopes for hunting applications. Many brands have dedicated rimfire scopes with a fixed parallax set at 50 or 60 yards. These are ideal for hunting in my opinion. Leupold had a pretty decent 2-7x rimfire scope that I have on a 10/22. Pretty nice setup.

I have this on my FV-SR and it's been nails. 100yd shots are dialed right in with standard velocity CCI's

Barska Optics are great glass and an outstanding value.

I used the scope below on a couple different .308s until it landed on my sons SR. great combo for that rifle.
