My .270 has had a cheap place holder scope on it for too long, looking for a fairly straight forward 10 power or so scope to put on it. I'd rather something with some kind of moa or mil reticle over a plain cross hair.

Rifle is a Ruger American sitting in a Boyd's hardwood Monte Carlo stock

Right now I'm looking at the Vortex crossfire II, Leupold VX-2, and Primary arms mil dot.

Eyeguy, if you see this. How does the Rudolph H-1 compare to what's listed?

If you want a straight 10x scope for $300, I'd go with the SWFA.

They make it in both MOA and MIL.

I came to suggest this. I don't have experience with one personally, just know it gets great reviews.

Yeah I've seen great things about them as well, just didn't know how I'd like it inside of 100 yds

This.

I have a straight 10x on one of my ar-15's. For the money you can't beat it.

4th's on the SS from SWFA. If you are near Waxahachie, stop in and look at/through them in person. I had an older MOA/mildot version on my M-14 and recently sold & replaced it with one of their Mil/Mil versions.

No question on the SWFA scopes. Good stuff for the price.

Take a look at camera land ny they have a clearance sale on vortex right now. Specifically a Diamondback 4-10 or 12 for 199$. Hard to beat that price on a very good piece of glass. Also have a Minox 4-12 with side focus 159$

Kinda busy right this second but I'll reply to this...

I have played with the H-1 and was impressed. For the money, it's a great scope. That being said, I don't remember much in the way of specifics due to the fact that I had their entire line in front of me at the same time. Will definitely be updated at SHOT though.

Appreciate all the input. I'll have to stop by swfa next time I'm that way and texian to look at the Rudolph before I decide.

The idea of an "old school" fixed 10 on the only wood dressed rifle I have sort of grew on me overnight
