Where? I remember an air gun shooting class beneath Kyle back in the 80's.

Others nailed it. There is a range in the basement of the Trigon and there's at least one (might be more, but I've only ever used the one) out at Riverside Campus.

I get it, and would love to have a world class range on campus and offer 3 gun as a KINE credit.

My issue was with the article claiming the "first" on campus gun range. I doubt A&Ms was the first either and I know it's not the only one....so Liberty certainly isn't blazing new trails here.

Riverside also has a shoot house.

VMI and Citadel both have outstanding indoor ranges on campus. So does West Point for that matter. Norwich does as well.

Not sure how public the long term campus plan is, but there is a proposed facility in the works for the new Rec Center. We could sure use it.

Just emailed a close friend who is on the executive board to tell him I am not sure what rocket surgeon wrote this article, but to let Wayne know we have two ranges on campus, and a 360 degree armored shoot house!

According to the proposal, the shooting range would be the first National Rifle Association-approved facility on a U.S. campus.

Also have a year round ski slope. Pretty nice area with the mountains and all.

The Trigon range isn't some secret come as you want cadet range. The ROTC programs shoot there every now and then. CCMU uses it some and the TAMU pistol team uses it which is almost entirely composed of non regs.

The article is poorly written, but what they are talking about at Liberty is a large outdoor multi-gun shooting range, something that A&M has out on Riverside but that's a bit of a stretch to call that "on campus."

I know the NRA is the Holy Grail for a lot of folks, but I think they need some competition.

What is the link between the NRA and the TSRA?

Being a small r "republican" and a Distributist, I always tend towards and lean to as local as possible with any organization, private or public.

Like the Fed itself, I think NRA has too much power.

My parents met at the 20 point indoor range at the U of Minn 60+ years ago. When I shot on the U of Mn big ten championship team in the 1970's we shut it down to redo the lighting. It was limited to .22 & .38 cal . I guess I'm not sure it was NRA approved and it was not suitable for 3 gun but there was a rifle marksmanship class held each semester back then where the students got to shoot (old Remington 513T's).

I would like to see a long range rifle facility (out to 1,000 yards) with fully functioning pits etc to host NRA F-Class, HighPower, bench rest and other competitions. I am not sure where cadets go to train in rifle marksmanship, but it would be nice.
