So my Dad wants a fishing shirt for Christmas. Any suggestions on brands?

Columbia, but they make lots of different styles.

Well I asked for online links to specific items, but I got fishing shirt lol.

Simms are my favorite, of course you pay for the quality.

He's not fat, but he's got a tummy. He's 70 so he is looking for comfort.

Columbia is more barrel chested than I'd like. Plus their shirts are never long enough.

I like my under armour fishing shirts the most out of all of them I have tried. Second would be Columbia.

He's short so that's probably good.

It is like a tackle box on your chest.

They also make then with less pockets.

Nothing wrong with the Magellan shirts at Academy.

Columbia for the summer, Super Bahama is my favorite style with basic Velcro closing breast pockets. Drake for the winter, they are slightly thicker.

Game Guard are growing in popularity.

Selecting the style is important. Many Columbia shirts fit terrible if you are on the thin side.

I wear fishing shirts roughly 200 days a year. There is a difference in quality over Academy brands.

There are several Cabelas Guidewear branded fishing shirts that I like really well and use for my every day work shirts. I like the ones with zippers better than the ones with Velcro. Under Armor also has some really good ones, but a little more expensive. Columbia has never fit me right.

Columbia Low Drag are my favorite fishing shirts. I've got one in just about every color they make

*They run big for their size. I wear XL in almost everything, but, my Low Drags are all Large

AnYone that has come into the store can verify that I'm pretty much a walking advertisement for them. Love them and they run clearance deals on then regularly where i load up. That is changing now thatwe have our own apparel but I'm sure I'll still rock it regularly.

I'm a big fan of Columbia Tamiami shirts - long sleeve and short sleeve.

Sometimes Sierra Trading Post has some good deals on the Simms shirts.

Regarding Magellan, I think their quality has improved quite a bit over the last few years. They make some really nice shirts that are well priced.

Second the Columbia Tamiami. They're more of a stretchy "performance" material that stays pretty wrinkle free. I normally order a size smaller than i normally wear.

Simms would be a good gift. Does he fish year round? Maybe a Simms cold weather shirt.

Anybody else notice that the fabric in the PFGs absorbs any odor within the first 30 minutes of wearing it? I don't know what it is, but I notice it with the Under Armour/Nike Dri-Fit shirts too. Went back to the good ol cotton cut-off shirts. I can sweat all day in those things and they smell good as new lol

I believe they're Aggie owned or operated. They're super comfy and they don't hold onto the smell like Columbia products do.

MAgellan doesn't have the same proportions as others--shorter sleeves, smaller body. If they fit they are OK, if not they are annoying...to me.

So my Dad doesn't actually fish, he just asked for a fishing shirt for Christmas.
