Debating ordering one of the two in SBR..

I have the MPX in store in SBR form. A LOT more finished than the Scorpion but it runs nearly 2x the price. However, for NFA stuff, quality trumps price due to the hassle for most people.

what makes it more finished? not too familiar with either rifle

I don't have a scorpion in right now but when you compare the two, the MPX is just obviously a lot higher quality. Metal construction and everything. There's a reason it costs more.

what i figured. the review i read pretty much said "alot of plastic vs aluminum and normal AR configuration"

I have a scorpion SBR. Love it. With a can there is no gas blowback in your face as with the SIG. Check out MPX vs Scorpion video on Military Arms Channel on YouTube. He picks scorpion over MPX.

Finally, the aftermarket parts folks have embraced the scorpion on a much larger basis than the MPX.

I also have a Scorpion. The only complaint I have is the ambidextrous safety mechanism that digs into my right hand. Gets annoying after 100 rounds or so. You can get an after market safety mechanism for cheap, though. Also now that I'm thinking about it, I had a few of their polymer magazines crack at the top. Otherwise it's a good gun to shoot.

would it be cheaper to buy the pistol then convert it? i'm not sure how the process would go to get it engraved and then get the stamp shipped off?

would i have to leave it unconverted until i received the stamp back?

Not sure if cheaper but you will be able to play with it as a pistol until your tax stamp comes back.

is the conversion difficult or is it just something whre you change out a couple screws and the butt stock comes off making it a pistol again

On the cz, since it's an import, you have to make it 922r compliant and change out the FCG and a few other things. Pretty easy. On the sig, add stock and go, I believe.

It say's Sig on the side. And I love Sig.

I have a Scorpion SBR and couldn't be happier. Great gun and CZ is doing a great job with aftermarket parts.

I would stay away from the scorpion simply because of the mags cracking. That would be annoying.

Had mine for almost a year. No cracked mags. And I keep them loaded.

Also mags are less than half the cost of the MPX mags.

yeah, when I can buy 10 scorpion mags for the price of 3 scorpion mags. And CZ is replacing all cracked mags for free and the new mags have fixed the issue. and none of my mags have cracked.

guys with cans on their sbr, which can are you running and where did you get the fixed barrel mount from?
