Anderson Lube Free AR15

Quote:

The Anderson Rifle is The World's Only NO LUBE Rifle
The Anderson Rifle is the only rifle in the world that never requires lubrication. It is only possible because it is permanently treated with RF85, the nano technology that injects calcium into the molecular fabric of the metal. RF85is permanent. It is IN the metal. RF85 reduces friction 85% and wears with the metal. Under heat and pressure the calcium nano particles elongate and form a protective barrier that eliminates the need for lubrication.
An ancillary benefit arises because without an oily film to catch carbon particles, the rifle runs cleaner much longer. A typical lubricated weapon traps the carbon byproducts from explosives. Under the heated conditions found in weapons, the gooey mess turns into tar which bakes into a solid mass and fouls the chamber. The result is life-threatening weapon failure.
The Anderson Rifle uses RF85 nano-technology to fire with
  • 85% Less Friction
  • 23% Faster Action
  • Never Needs Oiling
  • Cleans Up with Soap & Water
RF85 is proven effective in the medical industry, in automotive and racing, and manufacturing. You can read the independent reports by Oak Ridge National Laboratories here.

I bought one a couple of months ago, and I like it a lot. Put a red dot on her, sighted it in, and I'm ready to slay some pigs.

Retail cost?

You want to take metal, induce friction and heat, and tell me no lube is necessary because of some magical coating?

Yeah, I can't speak to the science of any of this, but it reminds me of the claims from when the AR was introduced that it was "self cleaning".

That didn't work out so well.

Ftr, I don't plan to shoot it, nor clean it the way that they show in the video. I didn't even know about the coating when I purchased it. I got mine at a gun show for $495, too.

Reminds me of Glock ads. I have a friend who has a Glock 19 for three years and has never cleaned it (on purpose - a test of sort). Still working fine.

Eh. It is actually not that hard of a concept to understand. It is simply using thermal expansion of a substance and gaining a positive property from it. The science behind it is fairly straightforward.

What I find hard to believe is that this process will work on the first shot on a cold rifle. Or even the second or third. Would like to see some hard data on calcium and it's reaction to heat vs. temps of the rifle when fired. Could probably do some research and figure it out on my own but ya know....I'm lazy.

I don't know anything about this particular rifle or rf85 but you don't have to be a voodoo priestess to believe in friction reducing coatings.

I totally believe this. I have a Remington Nylon 66 semiautomatic .22 my dad bought in the 60s that's never been cleaned or oiled. I must have put 100K rounds through it myself when I was growing up.

One can only imagine what it looks like under the cover.

Cerakote microslick is pretty amazing stuff. Bake it on and let it cure and you have as close to a no lube coating as I know of.

Sounds like a recipe for the rifle's owner to get no lubed.

It's an affiliate of a company which has coated tooling a long time. It's not really "no lube," it's a dry lube film
