In CS. What's the best way to get them out? Bait stations, traps, glue boards? Hate those suckers. Thanks.

I always prefer the old school snap traps. Worst thing about bait is they can die inside your wall or somewhere you never find them and it will stink for days. Bad part about glue traps is it makes a ruckus in the middle of the night that'll scare the hell out of you.

I'd stick with traps and glue boards. Get plenty of each and put them everywhere. The problem with bait is that they can crawl away and die in a place you can't remove the body and then you've got a really nasty situation

Used old school snap traps with peanut butter in my garage. After about 2 weeks and 12 mice the problem was solved. Kids enjoyed checking traps too.

I killed a few with the glue traps and bait last winter. I'll just be using glue or snap traps from now on. I had one crawl away to die and he ended up behind my HVAC system in the basement. Fortunately, my dog was able to quickly locate him after we came home to rancid smelling HVAC/laundry room. He had been there decomposing for at least a week or two and it was a mess to clean up.

Film them getting caught in the snap trap and post it on the Football board...

had this same issue last year. Caught a huge one in a trap where I knew they came down into the garage. I resigned to just baiting them, but it didn't work. Luckily after a month my Catahoula caught two huge suckers in the back yard in successive days. After that, the gnawing stopped

First find out how they a getting in or you will never get rid of them.

Everyone hates it but I use rat bait. You may have to smell them if they get stuck for a couple days but then it is done. Trying to trap them can take weeks.

If there's a plug in the attic, get one of these:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01C3AFIBA/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Favorite thing about it is that it comes with an extension wire with a LED light on the end. I closed the LED wire in the attic door, so now whenever it catches something, the light comes on telling me to empty the trap. I don't have to go into the attic or even pull the stairs down to check the trap. Did a good job and now there are no more mice to zap. If you don't want to have to touch the mouse, it's a good solution too because you just dump it into the trash.

I use traps inside to get rid of most of them. After that I use poison. Most won't die in the attic because they'll go searching for water. You might make some water sources available right outside to help them out.

Also, make sure it isn't rats... Thought I had mice till the first trap that snapped went missing... Found it on the other side of the attic attached to a rather unhappy rat.

What about sticking a cat up there for awhile a few times a week? Is that trashy?

Does anyone know if the plug in pest repellent devices work?

None that I have seen. They tried them at work and they did nothing.

1) Traps inside instead of poison
2) Search your eves, etc. for holes. Patch any holes. Shove steel wool into any small openings and cracks that you find (fify protected).
3) Set up traps and poison like a mofo around the outside perimeter of your house. I have 2 rat boxes on each side of my house (pic below), where I have both a trap and poison inside (the poison is basically backup if the trap gets triggered without me noticing). I hide the boxes behind my shrubs, AC units, etc.

Betweem 2 and 3, you'll end up killing anything before it finds a way inside. You just have to check them every once in a while to get rid of the bodies, reset traps, replenish poison, etc.

I've had better luck with old style traps vs the plastic one above.

Also, in the attic, it they are large, secure the trap. Or they can get caught and drag it off and die like they would with poison.

The old school ones do work well. But I will say I've rarely found a triggered trap that didn't have a dead rat in it, although I'm sure it's possible they don't always trigger (although lost bait hasn't been an issue either). The biggest reason I use this variety is that they fit and work inside the box, so I can trap outside.

Have been very successful of late, using glue boards. Not for the squeamish, as you generally have to kill the mouse or rat once it is caught. You can buy XL ones online that will catch things up to squirrel-size.

Poison works if you don't have pets that can get into it, or that might eat a poisoned mouse.

That's the problem. I've looked everywhere and can't find where they're getting in. The house is only 8 years old and still pretty tight. Never been one in the house, just the attic.

Country house had a huge rat and mouse problem. Put poison in the attic but went up in the attic, poison not touched but found 3 snake skins. Rodent problem solved.

I use the 5 gallon bucket with peanut butter on the can for my storage room and attic. Like the picture above shows, would catch 3 or 4 at a time. Keep on in our feed barn at all times. Cheap and efficient.

Can't add much, had a few in the attic that when scratching in the walls sounded like some werewolf hybrid.

Got a couple with snap traps along logical walkways.

Threw bait chunks from the local feed store and got at least one that way. Smelled it for about a week, and then no more issues.

Good luck

Other than hydrochloric acid, what would you'll suggest putting in the bottom of one of these buckets? I'd like to throw one in my garage to see what shows up.

My mother-in-law's terrier flushed a rat in the back yard two years ago. I put out those plastic Tomcat rat traps out in two places in the back yard and caught ten rats in a week. One day I caught three. One trap did disappear but it was a rat caught by the leg that the dongs quickly discovered. The next summer I tried again but caught none so either the rats were gone or really wised up. One trap went completely missing and I think it was probably a possum.

If you ever place the glue traps in the house, I hope you get to experience your SO accidentally stepping on the trap with a live mouse attached, while wearing socks. Watching her hop around the living room with a live mouse stuck to her foot was pretty damn funny. For your own safety, I suggest trying not to laugh too much if you care about your sex life.
