Wasn't the biggest fan of Riceland, but this was 3 years ago. All in all, it was overall worth it because it allowed me to work my dog and get on some birds. My main suggestion would be to go to the party thing before the season. You will get to meet the members and have opportunities to find like minded guys if you're going in solo. I also won a few good things in the raffle, so that was a plus!
Also, it's highly suggested that you scout the properties so you know where the birds are.
Main drawback of the club was the outdated reservation system. They did not use an online system. You had to call the guy the night before within a certain hour window.
If you don't join the club with a group, you will get put in a group randomly, so you could get anybody...
The head guy( Dave I think) was a very nice guy.
Land was hit and miss. Had about 20% great hunts/40% okay hunts/40% poor hunts.
All is dependent on land he requires and that can change year to year. Obviously, weather is a big factor for a lot of the land he leases as well.
I was put in a group with people who I felt like I was guiding instead of hunting with. I did meet a couple good dudes and we just started hunting together about halfway through the season, so that worked out.
