How long do you want to ignore this user?
The company I use started only doing outside treatment in the past year or so. Some new system they have - saw it in action once and seemed like they really drenched the area but did not come inside at all. Before they started this, they used to come spray inside along the baseboards and I think a more basic treatment outside. I think their process actually changed when the current parent company (Cantu) bought out the smaller company I originally used (Technical Pest Services). Quarterly treatments before and after.

They've been doing it this way for like a year - and no real complaints as far as results until recently. In the past week we keep getting dead/dying roaches on the floor. Like 1-3 found each morning. Always in a dying state at least - but it's been a marked increase. Could it just be the recent relative lack of rain? Is this normal in a treated house? Is no interior treatment acceptable in the Houston area?

Just wonder if I should insist they come out for another treatment and if I should insist on an interior treatment on top of that. I actually kind of like not having poison inside the house, but if it's not getting the job done...

Thanks

My BIL owns a pest control company in the Metroplex. He's says that you can get away with exterior treatment only if you keep with a consistent schedule. I think he will do organic inside, but I'm not sure that it really helps.

The big tree roaches inside this time of year is not uncommon at all.

We have been discussing lately trying to switch more people to the outside only regime, but not sure how it would be perceived by the customer. For what it's worth, I regularly treat my outside but only once a year or so do the inside....unless there is a specific problem.

I rarely do any treatment inside my house.

You should definitely ask them to come back out; our guy will come out free of charge anytime after a treatment.

And we treated once inside in the spring but haven't seen anything since so he's only working the outside for extended coverage for ants and mosquitoes (big back yard)

We recently started using a guy here in North Texas called "Green Pest Guys" - basically all environmental friendly and your house smells like peppermint or whatever.

It's been the best pest treatment inside and out that I've experienced.

Ants are in check, no more creepy crawlies freaking the wife out inside, mosquitoes beat back and no bites - haven't even seen any on the porch since they treated.

Try them out in Houston if you need an option:

I do pest control for a company in Lubbock and our plans are targeted to exterior only sprays but we do one interior spray a year, it's not uncommon to see dead stuff inside from picking up the pesticide outside. Check your door frames and stuff to see how they're getting in.

We've had more roaches than normal this year. We almost never get treatments unless there are obvious signs and issues. We called the pest control out after seeing multiple roaches in the last few months. He said the rains this year have increased their numbers. At least that's what I think he said...

If you are seeing them dead, it sounds like they are coming in contact with the poison as they are entering the house and dying pretty quickly. They crawl through it, groom their legs after contact and ingest the poison. As stated, check openings around doors and such and see if there is an obvious entry point somewhere. Interior sprays are becoming less common I believe because of peoples general desire to have the poison in their home with kids, pets, etc..

Cool, thanks for all the replies. I'll just keep an eye out...if it doesn't slow down or they start looking healthier I'll get them to come back out.

Helpful post to read. I was really not aware of this. Long time before a month I guess I read an article about pest exterminator white plains NY where they explained about pest control professional working process,it was really good and effective.
