I own a portion of this houseboat with my buddy, and we are upgrading to a larger houseboat that fits our two families better. So we are putting our current houseboat, the Buena Vida, up for sale.

The boat is located at Rough Canyon on the Devil's River arm of Lake Amistad - one of the best bass fishing lakes in Texas. Everything on the boat works. Two AC's keep the boat cold at night for sleeping. There are two queen beds and a queen fold out sofa. We regularly sleep 9 on the boat with some kids in the floor. Both engines run and we sometimes relocate the boat into a private cove for the weekend, and we might not see another boat all weekend.

Rough Canyon is about 3 hours west of San Antonio - 2.5 hours south of San Angelo. Lake Amistad is a clear water lake and the depth where the boat is docked is about 60' deep. Just outside of houseboat cove, the Devil's River is about 100' deep.

Does rough canyon have slips? Cost per month?

Yes, there are slips available, and I believe they are $225 per month and that includes shore power. I think the shore power is 30 amp. There is a sewer pump station there, too. The National Park Service manages the slips and mooring buoys.

It's pretty straight forward in working everything, but my buddy from San Angelo is out there nearly every weekend in the summer and we'd be around to help and answer questions. Of our group of friends, we have 3 houseboats out there.

We aren't getting out of the houseboat business, just upgrading to a larger one that fits us better. It'll be out there at Rough Canyon, too.

We've never rented before, and since we are upgrading, it's a possibility after we take ownership of the new boat.

I have no idea what we'd charge per weekend, but it's a thought if it doesn't sell.

Ours isn't in that picture, but that's the area where it is. You were probably pretty close to ours from where the pic was taken based on the angle.

There is Don and Rita's house in the background. My favorite place in the whole world is on the Devil's River. We are having my daughter's 21st Birthday party there next weekend. Good buy on the HB. That lake is huge, with coves all over the place to anchor.
