Can anyone help me out with a few decent places to fish for catfish on the north side of the lake from a boat?
I normally fish Somerville and have only been on Conroe a few times. Since Somerville is flooded and no access, I'm wanting to fish Conroe. Can anyone point me in a good direction? I'm going to ore morning.

Take some dog food, or sour wheat if you have it. Pull up to some bulkheads (docks) and scatter some around your boat. Wait a few minutes and chunk some different baits out under a slipping cork to see what they are hungry for. We catch most with stink bait over there, but some times they want chicken liver or frozen shad

Where you dropping in? What kind of boat/draft/access do you have/comfortable with?

Had W on Calvary, stop in Loch Ness Marina and buy stinky butter and put in there. Head around the point on Cape Malibu and find you two stumps to tie between. Dump range cubes all around boat. Drink 3 beers. Use tongue depressor to putty up a hook with stinkbutter, drop off bottom, reel up twice and pull in ~10pounders all day.

I always fish pretty far north, just south of the 1375 bridge, because I fish from my kayak and don't want to have to deal with ahole boaters. I have personally never fished for catfish but I always see a lot of people fishing directly under or right around the 1375 bridge. Seen a couple people pull up some decent size cats

I have a stump proof John boat, so I can go pretty shallow and not worry about bumping stumps. I plan on fishing deep below the 1097 bridge with liver or shad since it's the only thing I could figure out to do.

Find some stumps by river channel and like said before chum with something. I dont use range cubes because it brings around the carp I personally like to use cut shad or whole shad if small enough. If you are efficient with cast next throw around boat ramps early in the morning.
I also have been using punch bait shad flavored has been good. I also have been doing good on night crawlers off the bottom. I have been fishing lake points and deep water structure and have had steady bite. Just a heads up though on Conroe boat traffic is crazy and you have to fish early because it will shut the bite down.

Is Scott's ridge ok to launch from? I have been there before but don't know of any other public launch.
I might try that Loch Ness marina. It looks good and I can check out the RV sites while I'm there.
