Tubing this weekend on the San Marcos - BIG snake comes swimming directly up the river straight at a lady in our group. She lost her S**t and kicked at it, it turned to another group and tried to board another lady tube. She flipped out and it finally swam to shore.
Assume it was a diamondback water snake - it was at least 4', definitely longer than a tube is wide?
I dont get too shook up by snakes, but I was about 10' away and it spooked the crap out of me. Especially when it tried to raise up and get onto the lady's tube. I thought they would try everything to get away from people but this one was going straight up the middle of the river. It was swimming up river and went right through several groups. It wasn't very crowded so it wasn't like it was trapped in the middle of the river - lots of ways to go that would have been away from the tubes.
Anyone ever seen this before?
