How long do you want to ignore this user?
I finally jumped off the deep end at the beginning of this year and set up my NFA trust. I submitted my Form 1 for my 8.5" .300 BLK about a month ago, and with the new rule the ATF has passed that begins in July, I would like to go ahead and get my suppressor. I have two AR's I would use this on, obviously MY .300 BLK SBR and my 6.8 SPC, any suggestions on a brand? I have been doing some research for about 2 months now, and I thought I had it narrowed down to a Silencer CO. Omega, but I keep seeing and hearing good things about the Saker 762 or the Specwar 762. Now, today I run across Sig's SRD762, and it's about half the price as the others I've been looking at. I know that you get what you pay for, but I would like to think that anything from Sig (yes, I'm a Sig fan boy) would be good quality. Any suggestions?

Where did you buy it from? A local shop or online somewhere?

I have a list of about 10 that I've been reviewing and that's on my list. What do you like about it? Do you know what the sound reduction is? I think that's my biggest deciding factor is the noise reduction.

I am waiting for my personal one right now. But my ears couldn't tell the difference between it and the SDN-6. I originally wanted a direct thread on (deticated 300blk SBR was the original idea), and was looking for an AAC cyclone, but was having a really hard time finding one.

YHMs customer service is really easy to work with too. Called them this morning about mounts and their blast deflector, and the guy was super helpful and I didn't have to wait on hold at all.

SBR paperwork should be in within the month. Phantom likely will still be several months.

He is the upper that currently resides in a pistol lower, but will go on the SBR when the stamp rolls in.

Check out the Liberty Mystic X (can do both of those calibers and will also do .22) or Silencerco Harvester (can do both of those calibers and will go up to .300 Win Mag).

Do keep in mind that on the Mystic X the 6.8 would need to have a barrel length of at least 16". It doesn't matter on the .300 blk.

Here are the calibers that they list....

Current Caliber List for the Mystic X:
NOTICE: We no longer rate the Mystic X for 308 Subsonic and have removed it from the caliber list as of 21 FEB 2016 as there seems to be a problem with people noticing that the word SUBSONIC was next to this caliber in the list and keep refereencing using the mystic x on this caliber with full power loads. The Mystic X is NOT a 308 can. It is not designed to be used in this capacity and damage can occur to your suppressor if you shoot these sorts of calibers through it.

I would NOT use Silencer Shop for that Sig 762, or any can for that matter.

I have a bunch of Griffen Optimus suppressors on the way. GREAT suppressors and very hard to find. They are multi call and may fit your bill very well.

That's the problem, I've "checked" them all out and every time I see a new one it just clouds the waters... It's not like you can run down and pick one of these up to try out either.

How long do you want to ignore this user?
how does it compare to the Omega? and is it direct thread?
TheEyeGuy

Larger calibers, the omega is probably a little better (45 type). For smaller ones, the Optimus seems to be the better choice. I'm leaning towards an optimus for myself, though I'll also end up with a few dedicated cans as well.

Does come with a taper mount.

i'll probably come see ya once the omega comes in. how would the optimus do on a 762x39?
TheEyeGuy

I'm sure it will, but I am not sure the exact db rating on a 7.62x39

So does anyone have any experience with the Sig? The price is intriguing...
TheEyeGuy

No experience with them though I know I can get them.

I know it isn't quite like getting to shoot one but there quiet a few videos on youtube showing the db rating and comparison testing for different cans.

Also check out the torture test with 7.62x39

How hard are Omegas to come by right now? Guy that runs my local range and deals suppressors says he can't even get S/Ns for them right now and is trying to steer me towards a Dead Air. The Sandman L looks cool, but seems like they're heavy as sin.
TheEyeGuy
How long do you want to ignore this user?
I've got a couple unspoken for omega S/Ns right now, I think.

I have a Sig 762 qdti sitting in time out. Hopefully within a month, I can review it for you. I chose Sig for the price, poi change and reputation (sig fan boy too).

One and done

Kind of big and heavy for pistol can, but works on rifles including big bore.

Fortunately for my IRA, I think my family is complete already: rimfire, .30 cal and pilstol cans.
