6 works well though I actually like a 410 - the really tight choke/string pattern works IMO for head shooting rabbits and squirrels.

I like BB for nutria/stuff I want to just kill

This would have been my answer to this question had someone else asked it. But these rascals are not skittish so there are a lot of closer shot opportunities
