How long do you want to ignore this user?
Anyone have or used gas smokers here? I've been thinking about getting on, but I'm not sure which one to get. Right now I have it down to these 3.

Masterbuilt 20051311 GS30D 2-Door Propane Smoker

Smoke Hollow 38202G LPG 2-Door Smoker, 38-Inch

Smoke Hollow 38205GW LP Gas Smoker with Window, 38"

I'd like to keep the price under $250, but I'm open to other suggestions beside these 3.

If you can increase your price some step up to the 44 inch Smoke hollow.

For that price just get a Weber smoky mountain.

I have the big Masterbuilt 2 door smoker. I think it's a 40 or 44. You can get it on sale at bass pro for $199 if you watch for it. I did some mods on it that improved it tremendously. I put felt gasket material around the doors, modified the flame cover assy to accept a cast iron skillet to replace the original tiny wood box, and installed casters on the legs to make it more mobile. I absolutely love it. I've done two briskets and two different sets of ribs and I've almost got it figured out, not that there was anything wrong with those attempts. Just learning my way around my first cabinet smoker.

I'm about to sell my big Lyfe Tyme offset because I just don't see myself using it much anymore.

Is there a reason why you like propane over electric if you don't want to use wood/charcoal? I've used both for short periods of time and would take electric over propane simply for the ease of maintaining a more consistent temp in a budget box that's not insulated ideally. And not having to worry there's enough fuel for an entire cook. Although I was able to keep a cook going during a power outage on propane once. I had a Masterbuilt electric (30" with the clear front door) and a Camp Chef Smoke Vault 24" propane and both did well with ribs, pork butts and chicken. never could get the briskets right on them though. Masterbuilt electric was easier to cook with IMO.
