This is growing in the back corner of my yard. It's about 7 feet tall now. Wondering what it is and if it's something I would want to keep or remove.

My guess is a waxy leaf ligustrum. They can be trimmed to form a tight, hedge-like plant. Some people love 'em, and some hate 'em.

Ligustrum. Highly invasive. Cut at stump. Paint with shrub killer.

That doesn't look like a wax leaf ligustrum to me.

It does look a little bit like a "banana shrub" that grew in my yard when I lived in the woodlands. (Not a real banana tree that grew bananas.)

This:

Does it flower at all? What do the flowers look like?

The semi-woody stems in OP's picture are indicative of ligustrum. Don't see similar stems in your pic.

Here's another pic. I don't think it flowers, but I haven't really paid that much attention.

That's definitely ligustrum. Used to kill it all the time around Concordia.

Agree with ZooGuy. It escapes yards and crowds out natives along creeks and edge of woods. Kill it and replace with a native if possible.

It may be a type of ligustrum... here's wax ligustrum; I don't think it's wax ligustrum.

Oh, maybe it's ligustrum japonicum (but the baby leaves don't have the same reddish color):

I'll play the "what's this plant" game all day long.
