Vehicle?

Expect 50-70k depending on how you take care of them and how heavy your vehicle is.

Michelin makes really good tires

Had them on a Grand Cherokee 4x4, and currently have them on my 4Runner 4wd. People say they will rot before you use them up. I put a lot of city/highway miles on them, plus some mild offroading in Colorado, New Mexico, Oklahoma, and Missouri. Great traction on wet roads. I love them, and probably won't use anything else on my SUVs.

4x4 f150, Ill be mostly on road and pulling a camper once a month or so. I will also be out in pasture where it can get pretty muddy with the rains lime weve had so I'm mostly curious how they do in that

I honestly got almost 100k miles on my last set. Have 60k on my current set.

I tow my fishing boat, a travel trailer and a light trailer occasionally. I will never buy another truck tire if I keep getting this kind of life out of them.

None of your hybrid all terrains or even all terrains, do well in mud. Will it be be better than a LTX, your factory good year SRA's, or any other plain street tire? Yes... But it won't excel.

Only mud terrains do a decent job clearing out mud from the tread lugs to really perform well in mud. However, it comes at a price... What you gain in mud traction, you loose in tread life, ride quality, wet road traction, and money in your pocket (cost much more$).

My next tire on my f150 4x4 (2014) will be either these or BFG all terrains.

To clarify, there are two main types of Michelin truck tires:

LTX(2)- last forever, excellent ride, but more of street tire. I saw a set of these go 55k with zero rotations on an E250 van. It's really hard to go wrong with these.

LTX A/T 2 - last a long time but not as long as the LTX(2) and not quite the ride quality, but better off-road capabilities.

best tire I've ever purchased. Wife has a 2004 SUV that we've put 170K miles on ... and only on our second set of Mich LTX AT tires. First ones went safely to 125K, all hwy, always rotated every 5-8K and prob could have safely gone longer. I run BFG AT KO on my pickup and have to replace mine every 55-70K.

I ran them on my 2fiddy pulling a 20ft trailer with 5-7K lbs daily. I did 28K before I changed and they had 9/16 left. 100% road miles.

90k on my AT/2's on my Sierra! Second set is going on 60k with ease.

Anyone ever got them off road? I had an old 99 fq50 hand me down with a worn set so never got the chance to see how'd they do down a sloppy path

Had them on my 2003 F150 and they lasted for I want to say 70ishk miles for me.

I took them "off road" meaning pasture roads in and around Valera that tended to be pretty rocky. They handled that very well when dry. I didn't go off the "roads" much due to how much prickly pear we have on our place but the few times I did there weren't issues.

The roads would get pretty slick in spots due to how the soil held the water so I would say they were avg. to below avg in that regard.

That being said I was very happy with their durability and ride.

Michelins have never been off road tires. The ltx a/t's will work well for bouncing through pastures the occasional mud puddle on the way to the blind, etc.

Dont go looking for mud holes with them. You will get stuck.

They wear well and are quiet. I only buy michelins for my wifes car. TA KO2's for my F250

I've had 6 sets of LTX2's over the years, mostly on Explorer's, Expeditions, Tacoma's, and Tundra's. I've never gotten less than 76,000 miles on any set and got 100,000 on a couple.

I gave my son a 2000 Tacoma that had a set on there in 2005. He just sold the truck, but before he did, he went to Discount to have them balanced and rotated, and they wouldn't touch em. Said they were too old! I think they might have had over 100 K on them. That is the only tire I run on my truck, on my second set (2005 Tacoma). Got @ 80-90 K before replacing. Also run them on the wives Honda Pilot, she loves them, nice and quiet. Just over $1000 at discount for the whole set with certificates. Money well spent.

Let me stress again to people on this thread, there are two Michelin tires being discussed when only one was really asked about.

The LTX2 is the upgraded LTX (nothing really new from LTX besides sidewalk and price increase) which will last 100k miles if taken care of. 70k plus is normal.

The LTX AT2 is the all terrain version and will likely not last 100k. More like 50k-80k.

The AT2 was what started this topic... Not the LTX

FWIW, my reply was specific to the LTX AT 2, as in the thread title.

Yours was all good... And no one had bad feedback they were just confusing the two different tires.

Mine are also the LTX AT2s. I have only had 3 sets of tires on my truck and changed the factories out at 30k miles. The other two sets were the Michelin's. I am now at 189k miles and my second set is just getting started. My average should be at least 90k over 2 sets if not more.

85k +

They clean out pretty well for a non-aggressive tread as well. That's real world driving with heavy trucks and pulling loaded trailers, not hotdogging.

They are the gold standard as far as I am concerned. Michelin ' s tread compounds, design and heat dissipation are 2nd to none.

FWIW, I am running BFG K/O 2's and they still look brand new. I've got almost 20k on them so far. Low road noise, ride well, look great. They handle the muddy construction sites very well.
