Wife was given a couple dozen duck eggs by a friend who has a bunch of ducks. What's a duck egg taste like? Had quail and chicken eggs, but duck eggs will be a new one for me.

Depends on the diet, I think.

I accidentally bought some in Austria, and aside from very dark yolks, they just tasted like farm eggs.

That or they were the largest single yolk chicken eggs I've seen.

Taste great! The yolks are orange so don't freak out!

Used to eat duck eggs from Fair Park all the time (yeah a bit of a location in hindsight), I don't remember a taste, but I do remember the orangish yoke.

I've heard they taste better than platypus, sea turtle, bald eagle, and American condor.

Got some from a guy I work with. They taste the same a chicken eggs to me. The eggs are usually bigger than a chicken egg and so are the yolks. I like my eggs over easy because I like runny yolks and duck eggs are great for this because of the larger yolks. Scrambled are good too.

They taste a little richer than chicken eggs to me. Pretty good stuff.

My understanding is they are a bit oilier than chicken eggs. They are great for baking.

Very tasty. The yolks are definitely richer than chicken eggs

I love duck eggs. Taste wise think of them as very large chicken eggs.

The best thing for baking. Everything seems to come out a little bit fluffier to me.

Thought this would be an outdoor culinary investigation of this kind of duck egg.

Every time my uncle comes in to town we have to make a run to the local Hong Kong market so that he can get a couple of dozen Balut Eggs to take back to San Angelo.

I'm not as enthusiastic about it. I'd rather eat a full grown duck.

Balut is delicious. Eat it with salt and pepper and fresh Vietnamese coriander.

Had a couple this morning. Larger than chicken eggs, and the shell is a bit different, more membrane, less shell than a chicken egg. Bigger yolk. Not bad at all. It had a bit different taste, but not really describable.

You can't tell a difference in taste. They are usually a little more "stringy" in the whites when you brake them (as in they don't just dump out like a chicken) but can't tell once cooked. We have a guy that brings them in from his house to the station.
