My wife and a friend were walking around the small lake there and a 5-6 foot alligator launched out of the water mouth open and hissing and got within a foot of its chomping jaws.

I wasn't there but it sounds like alligator was maybe protecting a nest. Any if you are out there on Laborday beware!

Meh. Their territory. You are just in the way. I love Brazos Bend. For that very reason. Excitement of the unknown and what is lurking.

Last time I was there I was stunned to see two twenty somethings throwing rocks at some baby gators while mom was lurking near. You just can't help stupid.
