I have a September 17th and 18th time frame (I know it's super late notice) but we have an Employee that set us up a catered hunt with sleeping included and it looks like the guy is flaking. Any ideas? We are in Austin, we were planning on going to the Rockdale area. There will be 8 of us. Even ideas on where I can look for hunts would be appreciated. TIA

Hmm, Rockdale is not exactly the dove capital of Texas. There is a place in Salado called Solano Ranch that is a big dove hunting operation.

Real good dove hunting in the Taylor area, but not sure about the overnight arrangements part. Book a dove hunt in Taylor area and then go to Louis Mueller for bar-b-que. Should be several ads on craigslist for that area.

I can second the Nooner option. I have been hunting with Sammy before he did it for money. Always has birds somewhere.

I will be down there tomorrow. I would expect a good hunt, but I will report back. I can't remember the last time I didn't limit out. It would have to be more than 10 years ago and raining.
