Last time I replaced motors I went cheap and got the 6v wildgame innovations timer/motors...never again. They're terrible. Anyone have a recommendation on a motor that will last several seasons? I know I'll have to change batteries periodically, but I want the hardware to last. Thoughts?

We use OnTime feeders and have been very pleased. We stay away from the solar units and replace the AA batteries every 6 months or so (they'll run longer, but 6 months is convenient for us). We use their "Lifetime Feeder" which comes with a lifetime warranty. They're tough as nails and the company has been excellent to replace parts when needed. We own in excess of 50 of them if that's any indication of my opinion of how good they are.

If you're near Houston, check out Ultramatic Feeders off 290. Been using their motors and timers for a few years. Haven't had a single issue.

The problem with Spin Tech is the spring will fatigue over time and not close the plate every time reliably. I have one I still use and once I replaced the spring it works fine again but the "bushing" will also wear down over time and leave a little slop under the spring. The All Season Eliminator Plate solves all these problems.
