Cross posting from Automotive board.

Doing a frame off restoration on a 1950 Chevy truck, and I am having hell with the guy that suppose to do the work. With out going into the details, I am looking at the possibility of loading everything up and taking it to someone else to put it all back together.

Does anyone know of a good shop in Houston?

I have posted pictures before of it, and can do again if anyone is interested.

Tech Auto Maintenance. They're a normal auto shop, but they do a BUNCH of restoration work too. They did some heavy engine and suspension work on my 1967 Camaro that was beyond my ability, and they did a complete engine rebuild and some suspension work on my buddy's 1972 Bronco. I highly recommend them. Give them a call and tell them what you want. They'll be honest and up-front with you about it. They get pretty busy with restorations this time of year, so expect a long-ish lead time. They'll be able to give you an idea on that as well though.

It's a small shop, I have not dealt with them and don't personally know anyone that has but I drive by all the time and they have some really nice work rolling out of there on a regular basis. Might be worth checking out.

Kemah Classic Automotive in Kemah, TX is a great place for exactly this. I used to work with the owner, Rob Lamy, and he's a honest guy with a great knowledge of classic cars and fixing them right.

He does everything from full restorations, to minor maintenance on anything from daily driver to trailered showroom-class cars.

Email me if you want more info. rdgomez at gmail dot com

Thanks I emailed Rob this morning. Hopefully i hear back from him.

I went and checked out FadedLove yesterday, and the guy had some nice cars that were about to roll out. He works and lives on the 2 acres he has, and this is his sole job. His wife also works for him. So it seems they are dedicated to this as opposed to the current shop were the guy wasnt making enough for some reason and picked up working on engines on the side, which turned into a full time job and hasnt touch my truck since.

I have a '67 GTO in Classic Cars of Houston. Classic Cars of Houston

They are doing a ton of work on it, making it a driver. Big shop. It has a 2-3 month backlog so it took a while to get it in.

Good luck on your truck!

Here my GTO....

Sweet Goat. I had a red/black vinyl roof '67 Goat at TAMU. Mine had PS/PB; AC; 4 on floor; Crager mags; twin glass packs; on hood tac; 8 track player! I ran it many miles with speedo unhooked just by tac to extend warranty. Aggies don't "lie" we just unhook things!
