Anybody have a built in outdoor pizza oven? I am moving into a new house and will likely build one (or have someone do it). I'm thinking about a combo one with a fireplace of some sort.

Looking for ideas.

I've got a custom built wood burning oven in my outdoor kitchen.
I love it!
You can bake in it, roast stuff in it as well as cook pizzas.

Look up wood burning pizza ovens on google.
I think its Al Forno.com. Mine was built by Texas Oven Company.
I'm at work all day today, but maybe I'll get a pic up tomorrow.
Since you're a premium poster, "PM" me and we'll trade numbers. I'd be happy to visit with you about it.

I built one using Forno Bravo plans. The only thing I want to add is a supplemental gas pilot to help retain heat like the ones I see done commercially. Doesn't look like more than drilling up through the bottom and adding gas line and burner, connect gas. Win.

Mine usually is fired to 750-850 degrees when cooking pizza. I put a metal door in front and (even with 28 degree outside temps) it's 450 -550 the next morning. It's all about the insulation. By the way IF you do build one a "pear burner" is the ticket to start it!

Thanks guys. I'm excited. I have a contractor out here that's really good. I'll have to have him look at this info.

Friend built one. He used a commercial pizza oven. The problem he had was finding someone to sell one to him as they don't typically sell to individuals. Their clients are all commercial kitchen contractors. He finally got one through another friend that is a mech. subcontractor. Big difference in commercial quality vs. something built for home use. Good luck it's fun to drink beer and everyone make their own pie.

Make sure you understand the time required for oven to heat up before use.

My 2 cents worth of advice.

It takes my oven about 1 1/2 hrs to reach temperature depending on how big of a fire I build.
