It's 18 degrees and snow covered at the moment. It was in the mid 60s a couple days ago and should be 70 this weekend. I can't remember a better Texas winter with such a nice mix of temps and precips.

Where the heck are you? I am currently up in working up in Wyoming (-4 this morning) and wishing I was in College Station.

This is the 3rd snowfall this winter. It's great to get a little cold and snow, especially when 70 degrees is less than 48 hours away.

We're supposed to get 10-12" in the next 48 hours (that's what she said). I'm super excited.

Obviously she was referring to barristers

Hard on critters though.

especially precips...... this is the first spring in three consecutive years that it is not desert bone dry and there is actually a little "green" on the ground. And there have been more than enough of those dry springtimes in the past decade also. The temps don't bother me much but I am elated to get winter rain.

Also the bluebonnets are beginning to bloom for the first time around here in three years.

Tell that to the guys with calves on winter grain.

It's usually not too bad on native critters. Mother nature has taught them exactly when to have babies. It can be brutal on those critters that man has forced to adapt to his needs. It may work better for your pocket book if your calves are born in January, but nature doesn't give 2 s**ts about killing the animals born at the wrong time of the year.

We have had snow on the ground since Monday in Longview. That's by far the longest duration of my lifetime.

What happened to the 70s that were forecast for today?
