How long do you want to ignore this user?
My FIL bought a stag 3G and put a vortex 2.5-10 x44 2ndFP w/ the EBR-1 reticle

I kinda like using the mils and I successfully ranged 2 target. After watching a few videos I get the concept, but I can't figure the value for one click.

Please halp

Not completely sure I understand your question, but if the scope is mrad then a click is like .39 or .36 (I can't remember which) inches...close enough that you just call 3 clicks to the inch at 100 yards.

.1 mil turrets move your point of aim about .36" per click at 100 yards.

1/10 mil = 0.36 in at 100 yards which would be 0.72 in at 200 yards.

Word on the street is 1/10 of a mil is .36 inches at 100 yards.

I got a guy trying to sell me 1.08 inches at 300 yards but I'm not buying it.

Almost as dishonest as the guy claiming 1.44 at 400 yards.

People these days...

It is an angular measurement, so as the previous posts are pointing to, the linear value increases the further you get from the barrel.

use the google search bar

type in:

0.1 mm = in

and you get: 0.00393701

Except it's not a mm, it's a mil, which is a metric measure of angle.

Isn't mil short for milli the prefix for milliradians?

Depends on the density of the fluid.

It is a measure of angle (degrees around a circle) not distance (millimeter).

I guess my question is

Assume I can cut a jagged hole at 100 yards. The scope turret reads 1 click =.1 mil. If I move elevation turret 1 click ( 1/10 mil) up

How much will the point of impact shift?
CharlieBrown17

.1 mil or .36 inches.

Thanks for the help y'all.

1 click (1/10 mil) = .36 in @ 100 yards

1mil = .001 inch

So, .0001 inch

Or one ten-thousandth

Or one "tenth" as a machinist.
