The game camera thread got me thinking.... How large are the pens you have around your feeders? I don't have the time to sit and hunt all night to kill the pigs, not that it would do much for the population anyway...

We try and make ours about forty ft across from fence to fence and round it off as much as possible. Seems like the deer don't mind it at all when it's big enough.

About 8 panels if you use the hog panels (16') Ten if you want a large pen. 12 T-post should be enough if you use some rebar between, A good heavy hog panel pen makes a great hog trap also, if you set up a one way door and get there before they tear the pen down.

Check out whitetaildomains.com and search for feeder pen design. Mine is basically 75x75. The more room you have, the better for the deer. They like their own personal space as well and will not jump into a crowded pen.

When the hogs got bad at my old lease in Childress we built a bunch using 10 panels each. They seemed really big. At my buddy's place in Ozona where I currently hunt a little we built them using 7 panels and they are big enough.

40'x40' is big enough for the deer to be really comfortable using them. ours are from that size up to 60'x60'.

This is what we do on our property.

Here's a study on it.

Ditto. Most are 3 Panels (48') x 2 panels (36') or larger. All would be 3 x 3 panels if the shallow rocks and line of sight weren't a restriction.
