Well, my dumba** recieved a ticket this weekend for not having my hunters education course certificate. I am pretty lucky for going all of these years without it and the law finally caught me. Anyway, which online course is shortest and easiest one to take?

"Christ almighty, it's like I'm sittin' here playing cards with my brother's kids or somethin' you nerve-wracking sons-of-b**ches."

I took mine last week at Texas Hunter Ed and it only took me 1.5 hours or so. Just skip all the readings in each unit and go straight to the quizzes & exams.

Not that I've ever heard. Mine's from 1990! May have been the first year it was offered, IIRC?

The mandatory course went into effect in 1988.

My green card has not come out of my wallet since May 1990.

A hunters education course is good from any state right? I took mine in Oklahoma when I was younger but have never had to present it.

Does anyone see potential issues with this?

Do you have to have the actual certificate on hand while in the field? My HE Certificate number is printed on the license, is that acceptable?

I have one from Georgia and been stopped several times in Texas and have had no issues.

I took this one, Hunter's Ed and it was pretty good. I think it's more expensive than the one posted previously.

You'll get ten different answers if you ask ten different people on this one. I've had game wardens tell me yes, and others tell me no.

However, unless someone was REALLY looking to cross you up, the number on your license should be sufficient.

It's flat out in TPWD's written publications that having the number on your license is sufficient. If you have an issue with a game warden about, contact the captain for the area.
