Heading to Sargent next weekend to do some bay fishing and looking for some advice.

Looking to catch redfish, trout, or flounder.

What are the fish biting and where are some of the better places to fish?

We will be staying near the Caney Creek area.

Are you staying on Caney Creek? If you are fish the lights at night.

I caught more trout in one night under the lights on Caney Creek than I had in all my other angling years/trips combined.

Come over Surfside and SLP. Enter the beach masters tourney.

Be careful past Mitchel cut if you are not familiar with the area. I have had luck at first drain after the cut in kayak. Buddy got spooled right there, although probably a bu.

I have fished the west end of e matty in yak with good luck. Also fished caney lights at night with luck. Also had pb trout in surf at Sargent. You might want to call ahead to check on weed.

I heard a barge ran into swinging bridge recently.

As far as bait. Penny gulp on jh under PC. Also paddle tail. Of course live shrimp and finger mullet. If you use cast net I have caught bait at public dock on icw side of island. Trout on sunrise on top water is a kick in the pants. Always try a spoon (gold and silver) as well. Also have used gulp char jerk bait as well with luck.
