SO for mothers day last weekend all my mom wanted to do was go fishing. So me my dad and my mom packed up the boat and headed to the lake. It was rough and I mean real rough we put in at Kickapoo at about noon. Then by 3 we where already headed back home with a three man limit (75).

Then this past weekend I was at a skeet shoot while my parents and my brother and his GF go to the lake. they ended up with a 4 man limit(100. I would have to say that the white's are currently biting in Livingston.

(I know not real good pic of the 100 fish )

Where were they catching at? It's still a little early for the 190 roadbed in the big part the lake if I recall correctly.

If you are talking about the old road bed that used to run out to what was dove island then yep that's where we have been catching them. Or at least around that area, if your familiar with it there used to be an old dilapidated red dump truck on the bank. trolling along that bank about 30-50 yards out using medium hellbenders with # 13 pet spoons trailing behind.

Huh, I didn't think that went out there until mid-June. I've trolled over that bed more times than I can count with my grandfather.

April thru to may we troll along that bank trolling to the 190 bed and past the 190 bed. Staying fairly close to the bank, if that area doesn't work the we troll on around near forest hill drive. if that doesn't work we will pick up and run over to the red jet boat dock (just further on down the bank) we will troll from there on out past the green boat dock. We can normally jig them pretty good around the green boat dock. now then as the summer goes on into late june and july we normally end up fishing the hills around pine island.

Wow. Niiiice. I may have to wander up there this coming weekend despite the crowds. I'm already rigged to go..Keep 2 rods on my boat with hellbender-pets all the time.

....third year in a row I haven't gotten to white bass fish the spawn here locally. The river doesn't touch the lake any more.

Stupid drought.

Ahh yeah about the YETI's we have two of the a 65 and then the small one. they are nice but we actually prefer the Yukon's we got a nice Yukon 50 for free with the antler camo top. the handles are nicer and the drain plug is real nice as well it also appears it works as well if not better than than the YETI.

Livingston has very fond memories for me. My last "big catch" there was on a Memorial day weekend and we ended up with a 3x limit in under 30 minutes. The largest school I had ever seen there was busting bait on top of the water and you couldn't throw a spoon in the water and not catch a fish in under 5 seconds. It wasn't uncommon to pull up 2 fish on the same treble hook.

P.S. - This was over/around the 190 roadbed...
