Managed to break my Costa Permits on the left ear piece of the frames.

I know of Costa's repair and lifetime warranty, but has anyone had experience with it? Quick turnaround on getting your glasses back?

Not sure if the hassle is worth it, or if I should just go for super glue repair... Thanks!

I have sent in 2 different pair for repair. Both experiences were impressive. Fairly quick turnaround and good communication between service dept and myself. Generate return form on their website and send them in.

I broke an ear piece of one of my pairs of Harpoons a few years back. Mailed them back in, they called and told me it wasn't covered under warranty, so I had to pay ~$60. Took about 2 weeks in all.

I broke the earpiece on my Zanes back on March 21. I shipped them back on 3/22. They replaced both earpieces and had them back to me on 3/31 and it only cost me $12+sh.

My first warranty claim with Costa since I bought my 1st pair in like '98. I still have that first pair. My second pair are somewhere in the Atlantic.

Just send it in. Don't do super glue. For one the super glue won't hold and they are usually pretty good on customer service.

Dog chewed off the ear pieces on my fathoms and I just called in, told them the model and color and they mailed me a pair. If you have the small glasses screwdriver you don't have to wait for their repair department.

For those that have returned theirs, how did you package them? Did you send them back in the case or just wrapped in a box? Were they returned in a case?

+1 for how to package?

Thanks for the responses!

I just went to the UPS store and they had a small box and wrapped it for me in bubble wrap.

Mine completely snapped in half at the bridge while I was taking them off once, plastic must have just become very weak over the years? Anyways, they were about 4 years old when that happened & I just filled out the form, sent them in using a small box that fit them, & they sent them back to me a couple weeks later for a total of $12. Awesome experience!

I typically put em in their case when mailing.

I've done several pairs, and they are typically quick and the communication is good. Warranty coverage can be hit or miss $50-60 for non-covered lenses or frames. I just package in bubble wrap, sometimes they return in a new case, sometimes not. It may be only when the frames have been discontinued and they send a totally new pair that they put them in a case, but I can't recall.

FWIW, Maui Jim has always returned their glasses in a brand new case when I've sent them without one.
