I am out of smoking wood.

Anyone have a good lead on where to get some seasoned Oak or pecan?

I used to have access to a place to cut my own, but that is no longer an option.

There is a place on Business 121 heading north out of Lewisville that has it. Or it used to. I think they had uncommon woods, too.

I haven't noticed it in a while.

I know of another place in Lewisville that sells firewood. Don't know why you couldn't buy some for smoking.

I have looked into a few places listed on craigslist, but they are either a long ways from me (Denton) or they want my first born as payment.

how much do you need? My 15 yr old started a small business cutting wood to earn college $ and we have a ton of pecan. email in profile if interested.

My wife and I built a new house a year and a half ago, and had to cut down 8-9 mature oaks (and others) to make room on the lot. Most of it is still in a huge pile in my backyard ... Come and take as much as you'd like -- I can't possibly burn it all before it rots. Hit me up at phoenix4 at hotmail.

BTW, I'm in Keller, near the Roanoke-Westlake border. AND, I have a 5-ton hydraulic splitter we can have some fun with.

In Irving on Beltline just north of Rock Island. Termite Paradise, I think its called.

Seriously, they sell to BBQ shacks around the area and you should be able to get what you need from a bag the size of the old military duffles up to several trailer loads. This is a pretty serious woodpile, but it isn't pretty. Just drive up and go into the trailer and tell them what you need.

I just saw that treadway's BBQ is now selling wood for smoking. I saw Pecan on a sign as I drove by, but I assume they offer others as well.

I am not a fan of their BBQ though. Another example of tossing meat in a smoker and selling it.

In a pinch you can get a 10lbs bag of kiln dried wood from Academy. They typically have mesquite, oak, and hickory.

For anyone still looking, I have a ton left ... hit me up at: phoenix4 at hotmail. I'm off this Friday and the following Monday, and will likely be splitting a lot of it and stacking it up. I'd much rather throw it in the back of your truck, rather than stack it.

agrams: Most of my wood is in log form, although in fairly small sections (2.5-3 feet, tops). Don't know if that would be helpful or not. I'll take a picture of the pile tonight and post it ...

Victory, unfortunately most trees I find are already cut into shorts. Ideally 20"+ width and a 6' length minimum are what I would like to find. I can do up to 28" wide at the moment, but have a bar and chain on order that will let me cut up to about 46" wide logs.

I've scoured craigslist, but it's hit and miss. (More miss than hit).
