Any suggestions of cabins to rent on the Guadalupe River for the weekend of June 19th - 22nd, large enough to sleep 8-10.

Let me do some digging, there was a place we stayed (we tent camped) one time that was awesome and literally right on the water. You could just go sit out there and bs in the river and get out and go back to your tent, and they would pick you up after floating... so no worries of DUI. I'm pretty sure they had cabins there

Unless we get some serious rain, I'd be looking to the Comal. Guadalupe looks like the Frio by my house

We usually stay at Lazy L and L and just went to Devil's Playground but got tired of the restrictions and all the hassles of getting everyone in the campground. Looking for an actual house/cabin on the river to stay at.

Also agree on planning on the Comal. I lived in New Braunfels from 2011-2013 and there wasn't a single time I would have wanted to float the Guadalupe (to low of water). The Guadalupe is the best when its up, but we rarely have enough water for it to be flowing well in June and July.

If you are set on the Guadalupe, look at the places along River Road... there are plenty of cabins there for rent. Just look at it on Google maps and you get about 15 different places.

Damn, who brought the good news bear? HAHA, yeah I have been looking online at cabin rentals but didn't was just wanted to check on here before booking anything. I would consider Comal, are the restrictions there still pretty bad?

Tube rental company will pick you up from the cabin, drop you off at the top of the horseshoe. You float down and get out at the cabin. Tube company will come back and pick up the tubes.

Sleeps 12.

they also have another house about a mile up river that looks to be about the same style.

I organized a Bachelor party and used texas river rentals. We stayed at the cabin on the hill in the tiki lodge area. It was great for a bunch of guys, had a great deck and you have awesome river access. There are grills and a fire pit, outdoor tvs etc. The tiki lodge rentals are closer to the river but were all booked that weekend. If you want to go into town though getting a cab or shuttle is hard though.

I would go to Junction and canoe/kayak the South Llano. Always plenty of water, no crazy rules and much more secluded. If you want to tube there is a decent stretch at the upper end of the river.

I organized a bachelor party on the river in 2012. We stayed in come condos on sixth street in austin, then chartered a bus to take us to and from the river. We floated the top half of the guadalupe stopping for a little while on one of the rocks to yell at people and see boobs. it was a successful trip. lots of booze and lots of boobs. we all parked our trucks on friday night and didnt drive again until sunday.

Good News:

quote:
NEW BRAUNFELS - A permanent injunction issued Friday bars the city from enforcing its controversial ban on disposable containers and cooler-size limits on the Guadalupe and Comal rivers inside the city limits.

“You can start drinking from cans and bottles on the rivers, effective immediately,” said Jim Ewbank, attorney for plaintiffs who had sued to overturn the city codes.

He declared “total victory” at the close of the hours-long hearing before visiting state District Judge Don Burgess.

Burgess had previously found the disposable container ban and cooler limits unconstitutional. On Friday he denied the city's motion to suspend his injunction if the city appeals or to require the plaintiffs to post a bond of at least $2 million if he prevented the ordinances from being enforced.

Requiring a bond of only $5,000, the judge ordered the city to pay $250,000 in legal expenses incurred by Ewbank in representing river outfitters and tourism businesses who brought the suit agains the “can ban,” as the ordinances have been dubbed.

The city's attorney declined comment after the hearing. Mayor Gale Pospisil said Thursday that no decision has been made whether to fight for the ordinances on appeal.
