Right now I run a baitcast chonarch 100b on a 7'6" med fast vendetta

I Want to get add a spinning reel to the repertoire. This would be for bay fishing for specs and reds.

What do you guys recommend and also line type/brand/poundage?

Daiwa SS1300. Not the newest or sexiest but its small, light, good spool capacity, smooth drag and it will out last anything else in its price range. I have one that has probably caught thousands of pounds of fish, all the writing is missing off of it and it still works like it just came out the box. Any quality 8-10lb mono or 20lb braid will serve you well.

That's a great reel. I used the SS for many years although I prefer the smaller 700. Basically trouble free....I never had to have one repaired. I can't say the same for my current Shimano's.

Shimano Symetre or Sahara 3000. Same size as the 2500 but with more capacity.

Gundog 7ft medium rod

30 lb Superslick braid

Cast it a mile and fight reds until your heart explodes!
