These spots have produced 20+ lb. five fish stringers during bass club tournaments for me. If you don't have a boat, you can fish for almost anything from the banks around Mason's Point (28.481231, -98.374165) and 99 Bridge (28.523172, -98.388684). I got these coordinates from Google Maps in case you want to pull up the locations.
Baits - Texas rigged Berkley Motor Oil worms, Carolina rigged or pegged Arkansas Shiner Super Flukes and Watermelon Red Super Flukes, watermelon pepper frogs (weightless). Watermelon Red is probably the most productive color for this lake. Water clarity varies greatly from the dam to 99 Bridge. The dam side has relatively clear water (usually), so natural color baits work best in that area.
P.S. Watch for 'gators.
