Backstrap on the deer is the same as the strip loin and most of the ribeye on a beef carcass.

I believe it is the latisimus dorsi muscle; could be very wrong on that though.

tenderloin in cow is different than deer I believe; at least not called tenderloin.

The eye of the loin is what gives ribeyes their name.

From looking at google... the backstrap is just "the loin"; and specifically the tenderloin is the interior part, or the tenderloin in deer.

loin is on the dorsal side of the spine. like a backstrap, tenderloin in on the ventral side of the spine, this is true in deer and cattle.

Backstrap on beef is the 'eye' of the ribeye. On pigs it is the eye of the pork chop.

Tenderloin is te same in pork beef or deer.
The backstrap is the same thing as the whole pork loin you can buy at the store. It is the same thing as the strip loin and most of the ribeye depending on where you stop taking your backstrap.
