I am looking into buying a Savage rifle with accutrigger. I have been looking at different sites and there are lots of different model types and a lot of different prices. What is the reason for the difference in price?

For example the Model 111 Trophy Hunter XP vs other model 111's or 116's?

TIA

Some of it is in the stock. As a person that absolutely detests cheap plastic stocks, please have them carve you a piece of wood.

Thats all I got.

I like my Walmart, black plastic stock.

I have a catalog at the house with a chart, but the website has the same information, if you will browse by model it will tell you if it has the accustock or a detachable box magazine.

In general the 16 and 116 series have stainless barrels and the 11 and 111's don't.

My savages with the cheap plastic stocks shoot ridiculously tight groups if I do my part, so any preference for wood is pure aesthetics.

My dad has one of the cheaper models (a 110?) in .243, and it will shoot 3-shot groups at 100 that you can cover with a dime. The catch is you have to clean it after about 10 rounds because the groups start opening up quickly. Except for the rough action, it's a great shooting gun.

Walnut 110 trophy hunter, solid value rifle...added Montana sling (google it). Remington 700 is other rifle I considered, which has edge in public opinion/reviews/recommendations, but Savage is close 2nd and price was right and really like Accutrigger versatility without a trigger job.

It choots when I squeeze, ok jerk, the trigger and is only as accurate as I let it. Nikon scope mates well with it. Took my first elk a month ago (still grinning)...obviously no complaints or regrets.
