I'm out in the woods right now hunting somewhat near a place that has some goats and I got to thinking. I've never heard an actual doe bleat while I was hunting, but I can't help but notice the calls sound exactly like goats. Do you think if you are hunting near a place with goats that it makes doe bleats less effective?

Yeah NW80 you caught me. It's just a question, relax. I've got goats and cattle all around me here and I've never had luck calling with grunts, bleats, rattling, nothing, but I've had deer charge a decoy before I could get back in the stand. Other places I hunt calling works just fine. Just a thought, didn't think I was posting in the zoo.

My point is there are goats and there are cattle and there are deer. Different species> different sounds.
Other than horns, I don't really believe in the "fart" machines/kazoos called grunt calls. Call me old, I don't care! We never needed that sh/t to kill a buck.

Deer, goats & sheep all sound differently to me. Deer are actually pretty vocal if you just sit and listen and there's not a lot of other noise around like cars on the highway, bulldozers & chainsaws on a nearby ranch, etc to mask their calls.

Well like I said I've never personally heard a doe bleat. I've heard plenty of grunts but not bleats, or snort wheezes for that matter. I just notice when I'm sitting in the woods and hear a goat I immediately think bleat, because I've never heard one. I noticed the similarities between some goats and a bleat call, like the Primos Can.
